Level 5 diplomas in Education and Teaching
Eight programmes covering three distinct purposes. The Diplomas in Education and Training (OTHM and Qualifi) are teacher-training qualifications with a teaching-practice requirement and a large bank of optional units; they are not management awards. The Education and Training Management programmes are management qualifications for people who run provision rather than deliver it. The Early Childhood and Early Learning programmes serve early-years practitioners. The unit lists make these differences plain, and our sector notes below say which is which.

A Level 4 qualification in a related subject points to a Diploma; a Level 3 qualification points to an Extended Diploma. This decides more than anything else on the page.
